Building a Tobacco-Free Future: RAID Gambia Conducts Situational Analysis and Develops Action Plan

1. In 2012 RAID - The Gambia undertook a comprehensive situational analysis on tobacco control, laying the groundwork for strategic interventions and policy initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges posed by tobacco use. Through meticulous research and data collection, RAID assessed the prevailing tobacco control landscape, identifying key areas of concern, gaps in policy implementation, and opportunities for improvement. Building upon the insights garnered from the situational analysis, RAID collaborated with stakeholders to develop a targeted action plan designed to guide and prioritize tobacco control efforts in The Gambia. The action plan outlined specific objectives, strategies, and timelines for implementing evidence-based interventions, raising public awareness, and advocating for policy reforms. RAID's proactive approach to conducting a situational analysis and formulating an action plan reflected its commitment to evidence-based decision-making and its dedication to advancing tobacco control objectives. By leveraging data-driven insights and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, RAID positioned itself as a catalyst for change, driving progress towards a healthier, tobacco-free future for all Gambians.
