The Comprehensive Tobacco Control Act of 2016 and the Tobacco Control Regulation of 2019 have established a joint enforcement team to periodically conduct exercises to monitor public compliance with tobacco control strategies in The Gambia, particularly with regards to compliance with pictorial health warnings and public smoking. In this regard, the joint enforcement team recently conducted an occasional exercise in the Upper River Region, targeting restaurants, garages, markets, and shops to assess their level of compliance with the Tobacco Control Act of 2016 and Regulation of 2019. Below is the pictorial of the operation in Basse, Jimara and Wuli.
